Ura Tabu's mission derives from a collective female response to reignite the sacredness of dances from the Pacific as a way of re-establishing inter-connectedness, collective well-being and unity that ultimately cultivates female empowerment, bold creativity and fine Performance art.
We actively engage in a holistic, cross-cultural collaborative approach to our dance practices which heavily informs our community, corporate and theatre based dance works.
We honour our roots, mixed blood lines and indigenous value systems while at the same time acknowledging the ever changing and evolving environments in which we live. 'E sui faiga ae tumau faavae'.
We are a leading female Pacific dance collective creating opportunities that nourish our communities by presenting meaningful, relevant, courageous and necessary dance experiences that connect people from across Te Moana nui a Kiwa and beyond.
